FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about joining The Eleeo Sanctuary?
We want you to understand what The Eleeo Sanctuary is, what membership asks of you, and whether this path feels aligned before you join the waitlist. The questions below are intended to help you understand the Sanctuary, our membership process, and what participation involves.
ABOUT THE SANCTUARY
-
The Eleeo Sanctuary was created for people living with neurological conditions.
The Sanctuary welcomes people navigating a range of neurological conditions and symptoms. We also recognize that some individuals may still be seeking answers or may not yet have a formal diagnosis.
Because sacramental practice is part of membership, each prospective member is considered individually through The Eleeo Sanctuary's application and screening process.
-
No. The Eleeo Sanctuary does not replace medical care. Members are encouraged to keep working with their own healthcare professionals, and nothing here is offered as diagnosis or treatment.
-
The Eleeo Sanctuary currently gathers online. Members connect through our private community, education, reflection, support, and live virtual gatherings.
-
Not yet. We are only able to welcome members living in the United States at this time. You are welcome to add your name to the waitlist and tell us where you are, and we will let you know if that ever changes.
MEMBERSHIP
-
Membership begins through a thoughtful process designed to help both you and the Sanctuary determine whether this path is appropriate.
01 Join the Waitlist
Joining the waitlist allows us to stay connected while we prepare to welcome our first cohort. It is not an application and does not guarantee membership.
02 Application
When applications open, those on the waitlist will receive additional information about membership and an invitation to apply.
03 Health Screening
Applicants who are appropriate to continue will complete The Eleeo Sanctuary's health screening process.
04 Education, Orientation, and Preparation
Approved applicants complete the required education, orientation, and preparation before being welcomed into membership.
-
For now, joining the waitlist simply allows us to stay connected with you as we prepare to welcome our first membership cohort.
Before applications open, we will share additional information about timing, cost, expectations, and the application process so you can decide whether you would like to continue.
You will not be asked to provide detailed health information simply because you joined the waitlist.
-
Our process is intentionally paced because membership includes application review, health screening, education, orientation, and preparation.
Timing may vary depending on the individual and the timing of the cohort, but prospective members should expect the process from application through onboarding to take several weeks rather than several days.
-
Pricing for our first membership cohort will be shared before applications open. You will know the full cost, what is included, and what ongoing membership involves before deciding whether you would like to apply.
-
Yes. Joining the waitlist or completing an application does not guarantee membership.
Our responsibility is to determine whether participation is appropriate within the Sanctuary's established membership and screening guidelines. An applicant may be approved, asked to wait or provide additional information, or declined.
-
The Sanctuary is built around participation.
Members are expected to approach the community and sacrament with honesty, respect, personal responsibility, and a willingness to learn. This includes completing required education and preparation, providing accurate information during screening, following Sanctuary guidelines, participating thoughtfully in the practice, and respecting the privacy and experiences of other members.
-
Participation is voluntary. You may step away from membership at any time if you determine that it is no longer right for you.
We want membership to remain something people enter and continue with intention rather than something they feel pressured to maintain.
FAITH AND PARTICIPATION
-
No. Our faith is central to why the Sanctuary exists, but it does not determine who is welcome here. Members may come from different spiritual backgrounds and do not need to share the same beliefs we do.
We want every person to feel respected, comfortable, and genuinely welcome, and we ask that same openness and respect of everyone in the community.
-
Caregivers and family members are an important part of the Eleeo community, and we recognize that neurological conditions affect far more than the person carrying the diagnosis.
A caregiver who wishes to pursue their own membership would complete the appropriate application and screening process themselves.
-
Sacramental practice is an integral part of The Eleeo Sanctuary and an important part of what it means to enter this community.
If you already know that you do not wish for sacramental practice to be part of your path, The Eleeo Community may be a better fit for you.
HEALTH SCREENING AND ELIGIBILITY
-
Yes. Some health and mental health circumstances are incompatible with participation in the Sanctuary's sacramental practice, while others require individualized review.
Our health screening process exists to consider each person's history and current circumstances carefully before participation is approved.
-
Some medications and substances are incompatible with participation, while others require individualized review.
Current medications, supplements, substances, and relevant medication changes are considered as part of the health screening process. If something you are taking affects your eligibility or requires additional review, that will be addressed during the application and screening process.
The Sanctuary does not advise prospective members to stop or change a prescribed medication in order to become eligible. Any decisions about prescribed medications should be made with the healthcare professional who prescribes them.
PRIVACY AND COMMUNITY
-
Application and screening information is handled privately and is used for evaluating participation and supporting the membership process.
Access is limited to those involved in the appropriate application, screening, and membership functions. Health information provided during screening is not shared with the broader Sanctuary community.
-
We expect members to respect one another's privacy and to treat personal stories and experiences shared within the Sanctuary with care.
Our community standards address confidentiality, respect, and the responsibility members have toward one another.
STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
-
We want you to understand The Eleeo Sanctuary before deciding whether this path feels right for you.
Courtney and Joe will host a live virtual Q&A each week for prospective members to ask general questions about the Sanctuary, membership, eligibility, sacramental practice, and the application process.
Information about upcoming Q&A sessions will be available as we prepare to welcome our first cohort. Register for a session
